Garmin Street Pilot c330: I’d get nowhere without this
As many of you know, my family is in the process of relocating from Connecticut to New Hampshire. Moving, of course, involves a lot of pre-move trips up and back to the new area, checking out homes, learning the ropes, and more. Well, that was enough of an excuse for me to spring for a new Garmin Street Pilot c330 dash-mounted GPS (US$799.94 at Amazon).
This thing rocks. It’s got a tiny hard drive in it that contains maps and destinations for the entire continental US and Canada, and is simply elegant. It’s got but one button: power. The rest is controlled with a touch screen, and the beauty of it is that it’s so darn portable I can move it between vehicles with ease. Plus, I find “Madge”‘s sexy voice so appealing. 🙂
Truly one of those “Don’t Leave Home Without It” sorta things. Can’t believe it took me this long to get one.

From where can I download points of interest, such as school zones, to load into the Garmin c330?
Thanks…..Mike…..

I would like to know if I still should purchase map updates, or will I get them over the internet for the years to come. I ordered this product and is very glad I did. Please advise.

I saw this Garmin C330 for 699.99 over the wkend (New Year’s) at Best Buy. Might this one be missing something yours from Amazon has? How long have you had it and what limitations, if any, do you find in it? I’m considering buying it INSTEAD of getting the built-in far-more-costly ($2K) GPS system that comes with a new car I’m buying. Thus, my question. Thanks much.

[…] …for a lot of reasons, really. And yeah, sometimes my face doesn’t work so well, but that pales in comparison to being the guy whose GPS unit died the *day* before the factory warranty expired… Garmin replaced the entire thing! Gotta love it! […]
